Commissioning

We provide systematic commissioning of all installed systems – verifying each component against project documentation to ensure correct, safe, and reliable operation before handover to the client.

Commissioning

What We Offer

Pre-Commissioning Checks:

Systematic verification of all installed equipment prior to energisation — including visual inspections, insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, earthing verification, and confirmation that all terminations match the as-built documentation.

Power System Energisation:

Controlled step-by-step energisation of MV and LV switchgear, distribution panels, and protection systems — carried out in accordance with a defined energisation sequence to ensure safe and orderly first power-up.

Protection Relay Testing & Setting Verification:

Secondary injection testing of all protection relays to verify correct operation at defined settings — including overcurrent, earth fault, differential, and distance protection functions — confirming that every protection function will operate as designed.

PLC & SCADA Commissioning:

On-site verification of all control logic, I/O signal checks, interlocking functions, alarm responses, and SCADA communication — carried out loop by loop against the functional specification and signal lists.

Process & Functional Testing:End-to-end functional testing of complete process sequences — from sensor inputs through to actuator outputs — confirming that automated systems operate correctly under real process conditions.

Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) & Handover:

Structured client acceptance testing conducted with the owner's team present — documenting all verified functions, outstanding punch list items, and final sign-off — followed by a complete as-built documentation package delivered at handover.

Commissioning

Why It Matters

Commissioning is where everything either comes together — or falls apart.

A system can be perfectly designed, manufactured, and installed — and still fail at commissioning if the process is rushed, underprepared, or carried out by a team that didn't build it. Missed protection settings, unverified interlocks, or incorrect SCADA configurations discovered during live operation are not just costly to fix — they can be dangerous.

At LACOM, commissioning is planned from the very start of the project, not treated as a final step. Our commissioning engineers are the same people who wrote the control logic, configured the protection relays, and built the panels — which means every test is carried out with a deep understanding of how the system is designed to work.

Every step is documented, every deviation is recorded and resolved, and nothing is handed over until it has been tested and confirmed to operate exactly as specified.

Commissioning

Aditional Benefits

A commissioned system is a proven system.

Clients who receive a LACOM-commissioned facility don't just get a system that has been switched on — they get a system that has been methodically verified, function by function, against every requirement in the project documentation. Every protection relay has been tested. Every PLC sequence has been run. Every alarm has been triggered and confirmed.
